Cute, Cute, Cute!!! I’ve been receiving different get well cards every couple of days from Jack’s 6th grade students up in Mahopac, NY. Thank you so much everyone, they really lift my spirits.
Today I had lots of tests and scans… Chemo has been going well; and I find out tomorrow exactly how much it has done for me up to this point. We’re all a bit nervous but expecting good news. I can’t thank my parents and Nik enough for being there every step of the way.
Things to look forward too - Jacky is coming down again Thursday night, and we have the Picture a Cure event this Saturday night.
XOXOXOXO

Hey everyone! I really love getting all this support. I feel so lucky to have so many fantastic people in my life. A special thanks goes out to Tom, Amy and everyone that attended their house party. The music, food and especially all the guests really made the night wonderful.
That same weekend I received a wig in the mail from Jean’s Hair & Wig Systems. Thank you Barbara for your unbelievable generousity.

Hooray!! Another successful chemo treatment yesterday. Instead of being knocked out for three days, I’ve actually been awake for several hours today.
Jack and Chrissy (brother and his gf) came down to visit last night, so that has been wonderful. My focus for the next few days is to EAT, EAT, EAT! Expect some pictures posted soon. Thanks for checking in…
Please keep the messages coming, I love them!

Sleep, sleep, sleep - all I seem to be able to do after the latest round of Chemo is sleep. My Occupational Therapist came to the house this morning but I couldn’t find the energy to go through with it. So frustrating. Here’s to hoping I get some strength and energy back for the weekend.

My Chemo went well yesterday - no allergic reaction so that was a huge relief! Side effects that I’m having to deal with are numbness in my feet, dry mouth, nausea and not least exhaustion. I slept most of yesterday following my treatment and only managed to stay awake for a couple of hours before crashing out again. Didn’t wake up until 10am today and have been exhausted every moment. Today, I’m also noticing that my hips feel particularly weak, sort of fragile. I just caught a glimpse of my story on ABC’s website and saw my picture next to Katherine Heigl’s. Talk about surreal…..! The best thing about today is that I managed to get out of the house for a short while to pick up Jake from school. Seeing his smiley face and getting a big hug from him made my day so much better

Today, I went for my second Chemo treatment at Mayo. After positive news from Dr Colon on Thursday - my lungs were making good progress - today was mixed. The Chemo was reduced as Dr Colon wants a more aggressive treatment, every week rather than tri-weekly. Trouble is I didn’t react well well to the same Chemo as last time and had an allergic reaction which was particularly scary. I was then admitted overnight again so that the doctors could monitor me. Another attempt at the Chemo is scheduled for next Tues and is with a different ‘vehicle’ in an attempt to avoid another allergic reaction.

Thank you SO much to everyone who’s posted messages, cooked food, sent flowers, donated and in any way helped my family and I on this tough journey. I am so grateful for your words of support, encouragement and optimism and I cannot express in words just how much it is helping me. Reading messages from friends, family and even people I’ve never met touches me deeply and keeps me going in such a big way. My entire family and I are truly grateful for your support. Thank you!
